Axolotl rarely live above the radar for most people. Why then do I find them so interesting? There was an article in the NY Times today about them.

There is also a short story by Julio Cortazar that discribes a man changing places with an Axolotl in a tank. I remember reading it in Spanish in college and thinking long and hard about the writing and the story. Maybe it’s just because of the way the Nahuatl word sounds. Like how Ahuacatl changed to Aguacate and then Avocado.

Quetzalcoatl, Chocolatl, Coyotl, Tomatl…

Man, I wish I could speak Nahuatl.

I’m writing this to keep track of the fact that I’m having another occular migraine. I was running late this morning too. It was really hard to get out of bed, and now I wonder if it had something to do with this. I can’t write much becuase it’s right in my field of vision, which is annoying. I’ll check in later with something much more interesting.

Poseidon So I went to see Poseidon on Friday night and it was awful.

Luckily it was a ton of fun because I was there with great friends and I saw it in IMAX so my senses were fully engaged. It was a great night, but the movie was TERRIBLE. Someone said they read a review that said this movie is not kind to minorities and I agree. THEY ALL DIE. Oh shit I gave it away – well let’s just say they don’t all drown.

I keep thinking of funny captions for this picture, but I have a strange sense of humor so I’ll spare you. If you can think of any, leave a comment.

Happy Mother’s Day y’all.
